Val di Sole, a land of snow, skiing, high peaks and spas is much appreciated by its visitors also for its traditional cuisine and typical products. Many dishes with ancient origins, handed down from generation to generation and products that are unique in terms of characteristics and quality: cheeses, cured meats, honey, apples and berries and the ever-present wines.

Traditional cheese from Val di Sole, raw cheese made with whole milk. It is a cheese also produced in antiquity, in the past the production took place exclusively in the autumn season. The shape has a diameter between 10 and 22 cm.

Apples della Val di Sole have obtained the recognition of the DOP (Protected Designation of Origin). Cultivated in the southern part of the Val di Sole, in that area that takes the name of Val di Non, the apples of this area are called “Melinda”. Val di Sole, thanks to its climate, altitude and to the ground, it is one of the richest places in these small fruits of the undergrowth, so much so that they have become one of its typical products.

Speck from Val di Sole and of Trentino in general, has been recognized with the PGI mark, or protected geographical indication. This product is subjected to traditional smoking and maturing processes, and is used in the production of pasta, bread dumplings, dumplings and much more … In addition to the speck, the region is also famous for the production of other excellent quality cured meats, such as salami, bacon and the famous luganega.

Honey it is one of the most important products of the Val di Sole, produced by small companies in the area and rich in beneficial properties for the whole body. Honey It is used not only in desserts, but also in the preparation of savory dishes and as an accompaniment to cheese.

The wines represent one of the most important productions of Val di Sole and Trentino. Among the most famous is certainly the Trentino D.O.C. Müller Thurgau, but they certainly deserve to be mentioned: Spumante Trento Doc classic method, Vino Santo, Trentino Doc Marzemino, Teroldego Rotaliano Doc, Enantio, Merlot, Moscato Giallo, Nosiola, Groppello di Revò, IGT, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Trentino Doc Pinot Nero, Trentino Doc Moscato Rosa. Worthy of note is the Grappa of Trentino, famous for its “bain-marie” distillation, this grappa has unmistakable aromas and unique characteristics.
